The Good Life Wine Collective continues to bring the Napa Valley to your homes with a series of entertaining virtual events. Our Yountville community collaborations are no exception, featuring Handwritten and Jessup Cellars partnered with Kollar Chocolates on Saturday December 5th, 2020 at 5:30 pm PST / 8:30 pm EST. This incredible epicurean event, showcasing our handcrafted wines alongside some delicious and edible works of art, is the perfect ticket to kick off the holiday season. Two delicious Handwritten dessert wines have been added to the lineup, along with Jessup Cellars’ annual offering of their popular tawny red dessert wine.
For the past 4 years, we have partnered with Food Network’s 2020 CHOPPED Champion, Chris Kollar for a Chocolate Masterclass and Wine Pairing Seminar. Chris is a renowned Master Chocolatier on a mission to elevate chocolate into an artistic, sensory experience. His extensive travels in Switzerland, Italy and France lent him a great foundation for what has now become an award-winning artisan chocolate shop located in the heart of Yountville, Napa Valley. Chris was also recently named Dessert Professional Magazine’s Top Ten Chocolatiers of North America.
Our fun and educational chocolate seminar will include a specially curated assortment of European-style chocolates, inspired by new-world flavors. This delicious collaboration includes a tasting of three decadent dessert wines, led by Handwritten Sommelier, Philip O’Conor, in conversation with Chris. Our Chocolate Seminar package includes 1 bottle each of Handwritten Wines ‘Colheita’ 10-Year Tawny, Handwritten Wines Late Harvest Chardonnay, and Jessup Cellars Infinite Recursion, 11th Reflection. Your tasting package for our LIVE virtual seminar will also include 9 handmade, artisan Kollar chocolates, specially created for this event.
Handwritten Wines ‘Colheita’ 10-Year Tawny pays homage to centuries of traditional Portuguese fortified winemaking. Our 10-year Tawny blends consecutive vintages of the highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon from our micro-lot mountain vineyards. Alongside that, our limited production Handwritten Wines Late Harvest Chardonnay delivers a seductive style of dessert wine layered with rich notes of candied citrus, honeysuckle, and dried fruit. The finale in this curation of handcrafted wines, is Jessup Cellars Infinite Recursion, 11th Reflection. This limited-production fortified Cabernet is a Solera-style fortified wine sourced from Mother Barrels created from eleven historic vintages. Infinite Recursion is a crowd favorite, full of festive charm. Alluring dark cherry, spiced plum, blackberry, coffee, and cola notes provide a divine accompaniment to Kollar Chocolates’ fun and innovation creations.
