It’s with immense joy and gratitude that we raise our glasses to celebrate Handwritten Wines’ remarkable 15-year journey. Since our inaugural vintage in 2009, where we introduced the world to our exceptional 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, and the captivating 2009 “Three Words” red blend, our path has been one of passion, diversity, and unwavering dedication to the craft.

Over the past decade and a half, we’ve had the privilege of producing wines from some of Napa Valley’s most distinguished appellations. From the elegant notes of Coombsville to the bold character of Howell Mountain, our journey has been a kaleidoscope of flavors and terroirs, including Atlas Peak, Stags Leap, Oak Knoll, Yountville, Oakville, Mount Veeder, and Calistoga. Handwritten Wines proudly embraces the rich tapestry of Napa Valley’s diverse soils and climates.

Our story began on Main Street in St. Helena, and we’ve since embarked on a voyage that led us to a quaint cottage on the Jessup Cellars property and, most recently, to our beautiful new home in South Yountville, unveiled in January of 2020. Each step has been a chapter in our story, and we invite you to join us as we look back on the memories and savor the milestones.

Reflecting on our 15-year journey, our winemaker and owners share their thoughts:

Executive Winemaker, Rob Lloyd’s Perspective: “First, I cannot believe that it has been 15 years since I was first asked to create wines for what would become Handwritten. Tasting the wines from 2009 to our latest in 2023, it has been such a fun journey making wines from all over Napa Valley, showcasing its diversity in soils and climates. I hope that you have as much fun drinking them as the crew and I had making them… because I know we are enjoying drinking them also.”

Nature’s Influence from Owner Roy Eisiminger: “Creating a brand that showcased the diversity of Napa County intrigued me, and as the concept of Handwritten came to life, it has been fun and educational. The side-by-side comparison of appellations is truly a unique experience. The most astounding fact I know about the Napa Valley and its terroir is about the birds. Napa County has 145 known and 11 more suspected birds that call Napa home! Nearly 20 times the average. Cheers to you and our feathered friends.”

Unchanging Goals from Ownership Team: “Our main goals in beginning our Handwritten Wines journey were the same then as they are now… to touch lives deeply with a quality people experience centered around the world-class wines of the Napa Valley.”

The Handwritten Touch from Ownership Team: “In this digital age, our Handwritten Wines name moves us because a handwritten note represents the same extra effort and care we put into both our people and wine experience.”

As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal fans and members who have been an integral part of our journey. Handwritten Wines is not just about the wines; it’s about the shared experiences, the stories, and the connections made over a glass of exceptional Napa Valley wine.

Cheers to 15 years of Handwritten excellence, and here’s to many more chapters of crafting unforgettable memories and exceptional wines!
